Closing Out the 19-20 School Year

On Friday, our Minister of Education provided guidance to School Boards as we prepare for September 2020. What learning will look like this fall will depend on the incidence of COVID experienced in our province and in our region these coming months. We continue to pray that the social distancing measures currently in place will result in a continued decline of confirmed cases of COVID-19.

All school boards are being asked to prepare for three possible scenarios for September and remain nimble enough to move between these forms of curriculum delivery depending on public health circumstances:

  • Normal school day routine with enhanced public health protocols
  • Modified school day routine based on smaller class sizes, cohorting and alternate day delivery
  • At home learning with ongoing enhanced remote delivery

Throughout the summer we will remain in close contact with our Ministry of Education, our local Medical Officers of Health and we will share our plans and provide updates.

This week as we close the 2019-2020 school year, we mark and celebrate (remotely) key milestones for both students and staff.

To Our Graduates,

“May God be with you and may He hold you in the palm of His hand.”

To Our Retirees,

“May the Lord bless you and keep you.  May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you.”

To all our students and staff wishing you a safe, healthy and restful summer as we look forward to that glorious day when we are all able to return to our classrooms, our schools and our buildings.

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.” J Lubbock
